Post “Stick” Option.

27 May

As for everybody’s information,Im a blogger at blogger (confusing?,) blogspot so which means, im still a noob in wordpress . :D

I came across the option “make this post sticky” so I wondered what sticky means.I dont actually have those (in blogger) you know.

I had encountered such when I mistakenly clicked the ” quick edit “.

I decided to post it in here. There might some wordpress noobs out there. (haha)

Here’s the facts:

  • It sticks on the very first part of the blog.
  • The new blogs published will always be on the second part.
  • When you enable the sticky blog ,ill be there for the rest of time until you decide to stop it sticking.
  • Apparently, the reasons for many to make a particular post stick are:
  1. Announcements , Reminders or Important Things a visitor must know. This works more on forums.
  2. Most Important part/subject/article of the site.
  3. Promo or Contests held. (i believe it only sticks for awhile)
  4. Abouts of the site or could be the homepage. ( usually, new launch sites do this )
  5. Whatever your reason for making a post stick (I made #5 your slot) :D

I cant think of anything else. Those things are the very basic reason, and I don’t think a complex reason is possible. :) haha!

Anyways, for proof,I took a shot on my posts.

I enable stick option in my last blog Add a share link in your blog and this what happened right after.

Mr.Sticky was activated.yey! ( for demonstration purpose, ill take it off after! :)   )

Anyways, this is what happened next.

I made the add share link in your blog much earlier than Post stick option. As you can see,the share link post stick in the very first part and the newest post I made, which is again, the post stick option followed right next.

Anyways,I hope it helps you.whew!
